Voting Restoration Amendment
Nearly 1.5 million people in Florida are excluded from voting because of prior felony convictions, and Florida is one of only three states (Iowa and Kentucky are the other two) that doesn't automatically restore these rights. (Virginia is sometimes called a fourth state; currently the Gov. Terry McAuliffe is enfranchising people who were formerly convicted of felonies en masse). Furthermore, Florida only approves 8% of those who apply for their rights to be restored, as opposed to 80-90% in Iowa and Kentucky.
Americans believe in second chances, and now is the time to act to help restore voting rights to disenfranchised Floridians. We need to gather 1 MILLION petitions by December 31, 2017, and Women's March has committed to AT LEAST 10,000.
